Felicia M. Barlow, M.A.
Principal
Since 1985, Felicia has worked in several different industries, including retail/buying, business management, accounting, publishing, theatre, and film/live event production. Although she has excelled in each endeavor, it wasn't until 2005 that she was able to identify an industry which captures her unique talents of networking, organization and task management, and live event production—the concierge.
While working with Jennifer Kalita, a business development expert, they came across an industry on the verge of booming, the personal concierge. Because of Felicia’s extensive background, she was prompted to move into the entrepreneurial world and create Crabtown Concierge. She found her niche.
For most of the past decade, Felicia has worked as a writer and producer, creating projects ranging from documentaries to independent feature films and live events. She has had the privilege of working on major ventures to include the 2005 U.S. Presidential Inauguration, our nation’s premier live event; the highly acclaimed Surgeon General’s Report on Women and Smoking; the National Institute of Justice Journal as a contributing writer; and the annual Women in Film and Video Women of Vision Gala. She has used her discretion and professionalism when serving public figures, including Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, Richard Dreyfuss, Lynda Carter, Melissa Leo, Stephen Simon, Congressman Kucinich, and Congressman Slaughter.
It has been Felicia’s goal from the start to develop a company that will provide meaningful and useful services to the community. To this end, in addition to founding Crabtown Concierge, she has founded Evolving World Productions, the Layhill Village East Citizens Association, and was a charter regional Chair of Neighbors for a Better Montgomery— winner of the 2003 Sentinel award for Outstanding Community Service.
A consummate student, Felicia holds three degrees: an Associate in Applied Science in Fashion Buying and Merchandising from New York’s acclaimed Fashion Institute of Technology; a Bachelor of Arts in Civil Rights History from the University of Maryland; and a Master of Arts in Communication/Producing from American University in Washington, DC. A fourth generation Annapolitan, she resides in the City of Annapolis.
